Riad Shama Suites & Spa Marrakesh, Marrakesh

I found the riad to be a beautiful stay not far from the main ancient medersa of the medina. The rooms were described as large with a pool view and dining table, although they didn't feel superior. The service was excellent but a bit pushy on extra services. The location was authentic and close to everything, though a bit hidden. The dining experience was lovely, and the facilities were decent.

Staying at Riad Shama was absolutely brilliant, with well-equipped rooms, but it would have been nice if the fireplaces were lit. The service was very friendly and helpful, arranging taxis and Hamam visits. The location, though in an authentic neighborhood close to the souks, could have been better signposted. The dining experience was consistently lovely with changing breakfast options. Overall, a great stay but with some minor areas for improvement.

The hotel had a mix of positives such as well-adorned Moroccan-style rooms close to the pool, combined with some drawbacks like the possibility of encountering aggressive staff members. The service was friendly and helpful, although an incident took place that required escalated action. The location, while authentic, might not be ideal for solo female travelers due to being slightly out of the way. The dining experience offered a mixture of Moroccan and western options, with great service. However, some facilities and services might be affected by external factors.

The hotel had very poor lighting in the rooms, but they are very comfortable and welcoming. In many ways, they more than made up for the disappointment over the room. The price was on the cheap side compared to elsewhere in Marrakech.
